Speeding boats remain a serious problem

Canal Boat - - Letters - AJ NB Fermain

If you were the steerer of a nice shiny boat that passed me at approximately 6.30am on 14th June in between the short pound at Penkridge, Penkridge Lock and Princefield bridge, at such a speed you had lost your water skier, then thank you, you managed to rip my fairlead clean off, shearing the bolts entirely. I now have to repair paintwork, drill and tap bolt holes etc and replace missing fairlead, I know there is always concern of speeding boats, but this was extreme to say the least. My advice to you, whoever you may be is to sell your boat and get off the canal, you are not wanted. Sorry for the rant, but feeling miffed.
