Canal Boat - - Crick Boat Show -

Silent Waters 66ft trad £160,000

This is a boat we tested last month, and was the only boat in the show with a fully traditional layout and a vintage engine. The Gardner 2LW sits in an engine room at the heart of the boat, and makes a fantastic noise when it’s running. The engine room at the back cabin are fitted out using a combination of oak and teak, which gives a modern twist on the traditional scumbling. In the rest of the boat, there’s a saloon with a huge sofa at the bow, followed by a galley with a Welsh dresser. The cabin is in the centre of the boat, with an off corridor bathroom, with a bath, next.

The shell is a Sheerline Josher by Tim Tyler, and looks magnificent on the water. It has Victron lithium batteries, which cost a small fortune, but offer very fast charging and a large capacity — and should last far far longer than normal batteries.
