Warning light worry

-

Can you shed some light on a fault I have with a 2010 Renault Twingo? On start-up, the oil light comes on and glows normally. Then, when the engine is started, the light goes off as normal and a few minutes later the oil and coolant lights both come on very dimly. The lights remain on once the keys are removed, but eventually go out after a minute or two. The sensors are OK, with no fault codes stored and live data is providing correct readings. Chris Allan Tmiet As the lights seem to work correctly, in as much as they come on and then go off when the engine is started, I believe the problem is more than likely because of a poor earth somewhere in the dash connection. This could be causing a back feed through the bulbs, which is giving them the faint glow.

I would first remove the dash pod, then check and clean the plugs and connections. Next, ensure all the earth connections are making a good connection. Using an ohmmeter will help to check for resistance in the circuits by highlighting the area of greatest resistance.
