SERVICE SCHEDULE

These BMWS have either a Condition-based Service or a Service Interval Indicator. The CBS is meant to ensure that cars only receive attention when required, while the SII (as here) will count down the mileage to each service based on conditions and driving style. The recommende­d oil change interval is a maximum of 19,000 miles.

OIL SERVICE

Change engine oil and oil filter Change pollen filter Check front brakes; clean or replace as necessary Check rear brakes; clean or replace as necessary Check handbrake condition and travel; adjust as necessary

INSPECTION I All the above PLUS

Check battery Check all hoses for leaks and condition Check coolant level and concentrat­ion Check brake/clutch fluid level and water content Top up screenwash Check tyre pressures and condition Check all lights, instrument­s and controls Check seatbelts for wear and tear Check fuel lines and hoses Check windscreen wipers and washer jets Check body and underbody for corrosion and damage Check exhaust system and mountings condition Check and clean body drainholes Lubricate all locks, catches and hinges Lubricate door rubber weather-strips Check auxiliary drivebelt condition Check suspension and steering components Check transmissi­on fluid level Reset service interval
