Using Cataclean

Car Mechanics (UK) - - Help! -

Eleven weeks ago, I bought a Kia Sportage 1.7 diesel fitted with a diesel particulate filter. As with other cars I have owned, I intend to clear the system with Cataclean, but I don’t want to do any damage. Will Cataclean harm the DPF? Brian Mosey

From my experience, I would be happy to add Cataclean to the fuel system. Cataclean is specifically designed for vehicles fitted with a DPF and should assist in the regeneration of the unit without causing any damage. Like many additives on the market it is sometimes difficult to judge their true benefit, but as you have used the product in the past and been happy with the results, I would continue to do so.
