In the Novem­ber 2018 is­sue, our 10-page main fea­ture on light­ing was il­lus­trated with a graph (see right) de­scribed in the text as indi­cat­ing that an age­ing HID burner’s light out­put had dra­mat­i­cally re­duced af­ter 10 years. In fact, we should have said four years’ us­age, not 10.

In the same is­sue, in our Golf GTI project, the cap­tion for Step 6, says: “There are two cam revo­lu­tions for one crank revo­lu­tion, so you could be 180° out.” This should have said “two crank revo­lu­tions for one cam revo­lu­tion.”

In the Oc­to­ber 2018 is­sue, in the Elec­tronic Diagnostics fea­ture about the 2005 Land Rover Dis­cov­ery 2.7 V6 diesel, we didn’t make it clear that this ve­hi­cle was al­ready fit­ted with an EGR valve by-pass. So the EGR faults shown on our diagnostics reader were im­ma­te­rial due to the by-pass. Also, this model only has one tur­bocharger fit­ted – we said that it has twin tur­bos.
