The Hyundai NEXO has be­come the first hy­dro­gen fuel-cell elec­tric ve­hi­cle tested by Euro NCAP and has been given a five-star rat­ing, which should help re­as­sure the pub­lic that al­ter­na­tive-fu­elled ve­hi­cles do not pose a risk to car safety. Other cars to win five-star safety rat­ings were the Mercedes-benz A-class, Mazda6 and Lexus ES.

Lead­ing ve­hi­cle glass re­pair and re­place­ment com­pany Au­to­glass is rapidly ex­pand­ing its Ad­vanced Driver As­sis­tance Sys­tems (ADAS) cal­i­bra­tion ca­pa­bil­ity to ser­vice the in­creas­ing num­ber of ve­hi­cles with in­tel­li­gent sys­tems. To date this year, it has opened 14 new ADAS cen­tres, with plans for a fur­ther 11, tak­ing the to­tal num­ber of fa­cil­i­ties in the UK to at least 70 by the end of 2018.

To cel­e­brate its 150th an­niver­sary, Mor­ris

Lu­bri­cants has joined forces with one of its cus­tomers, Alex Sharphouse, to build a John Fowler Tal­is­man B6 road lo­co­mo­tive. This ve­hi­cle will be built from scratch us­ing old plans and tra­di­tional meth­ods. Mor­ris plans to take it on tour once the build is com­plete.
