The oldest surviving production VW Beetle, designated vehicle 20, has been fully restored after being found half-buried in clay in a garden in the Czech Republic. Car nut Ondrej Brom paid 60,000 koruna (about £2000) for the wreck, which was owned from new by noted German music composer Paul Lincke, and then spent 20 years returning it to the road. The Servicesure garage network has hit a major milestone as the Manor Motor Company becomes its 500th member. Birmingham-based Manor was established in 2013 and offers MOTS, diagnostics and repairs for all makes/models. The Servicesure programme aims to offer everything a modern independent garage needs to thrive in today’s competitive business environment.
Arts Council England has awarded Full Accreditation to The British Motor Museum
in recognition of it holding substantial collections of national importance and international interest and the standards of its exhibitions, public access and learning programmes.
