Brighter headlamps

-

I have one criticism about my 2004 BMW 330 SE, which has now covered 63,000 miles, and that is the dismal headlights. Even the lights on my wife’s Renault Clio are far superior!

In the November 2017 issue, there was a piece about Ring Xenon150 Performance halogen bulbs. The bulbs on my BMW are quoted as being H7 55W, so would it be possible to upgrade them without heating the wiring and blowing fuses and relays, etc? Do you think that the Xenon150 bulbs would be OK? If they are not, could suggest any alternative upgrade that would not compromise or endanger my existing electrics, which have so far been trouble-free? R D Kirby

From the information I have, the Ring Xenon150 performance bulbs would fit your BMW without a problem. Although they are described as giving out 150% more light, they are still rated at 55W, so they won’t put any extra strain on the lighting circuit. As mentioned in the CM feature, they are street legal and require no change to the wiring system.
