With the increasing number of hybrid vehicles on British roads, lubricants specialist Motul has become the first manufacturer to launch a range of engine oils specifically formulated for hybrids.
Motul’s dedicated hybrid range of engine lubricants is compatible with HEVS, PHEVS and mild hybrids. The range features four products: Motul Hybrid 0W-20, 0W-16, 0W-12 and 0W-8. The hybrid range specifically offers low viscosity 0W engine oils, because these engines will typically run at lower operating temperatures. Motul’s Hybrid oils have been proven to increase fuel economy, improve cold start and engine response at low temperatures, enhance engine cleanliness and reduce oil consumption.
Motul, which is distributed in the UK exclusively by Automotive Brands, has been at the forefront of lubricant technology for more than 160 years. In 1971, it produced the first 100% synthetic lubricant, using technology developed by the aeronautical industry. The company has also been heavily involved in motorsport and its oils are used in the Power Maxed Racing team cars in the British Touring Car Championship.
