VEHICLE OVERSIGHT

-

My workshop colleagues and I are disappointed by one aspect of CM. The magazine often features very lengthy and detailed articles about obscure vehicles that were never very popular and are now infrequently seen, while certain popular cars are almost totally ignored. We still work on many 2002-2008 Renault Mégane Mk2s, but these are almost totally ignored by CM.

Mégane diesels are quite complex and have a number of faults with the clutch, gearbox and electrical system that are difficult to cure. We’re hoping CM can produce an article on the Mégane hatchback and would recommend exploring the 1.5 dci 106bhp, six-speed version, as this is the most complex.

The engine and gearbox on the Mégane 1.5 dci is common to many other Renault cars and vans, so I believe articles covering a cambelt change, replacement clutch, electrics, etc, would be of great interest to many readers. Alan O’connor
