Replacing spark plugs

-

Q: Can you please tell me how to remove the spark plug that sits under the manifold on a 65-reg Nissan Micra Acenta K13 1.2 three-cylinder? Alan Gilbert

A: The plugs on your Micra need changing at 37,500 mile intervals. The job is given a book time of 0.7 hours and the inlet manifold needs to be removed to gain access.

First, the air ducting and air cleaner housing should be detached and the PCV hose should be disconnected, before unbolting and removing the manifold. The gasket should be inspected before replacing and should be sitting securely in the recess. It would also be advisable to replace the manifold gasket. With the manifold removed, the coil packs and spark plugs are easily replaced.
