Bedding-in new friction parts

After new friction parts have been fitted, apply the brakes several times before driving. Once on the road, avoid hard/ aggressive braking for around 200 miles, so that the brakes can bed-in correctly, which is critical if they are to work at maximum efficiency. If you fit coated discs, the first few brake applications should be light so that the pads wipe the coating away.
