Pollen filter change
►As we have mentioned before, the pollen filter is often forgotten when a vehicle is serviced, either because the customer doesn’t want to spend the extra cash or the mechanic can’t be bothered to replace what is considered a unimportant item. This is a false economy because, if the pollen filter becomes blocked, the interior heater or air-conditioning will not function correctly. The effort of trying to draw air through a blocked filter can put a huge strain on the heater blower motor and cause it to fail.
This 2004 Ford C-MAX does not have the easiest pollen filter to replace, requiring the fusebox to be dropped out of position to access the pollen filter door, but the effort is worthwhile before it escalates into a crisis.
