Flywheel change

-

I’ve got a Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 CDTI. Can I change my dual mass flywheel and clutch for a solid flywheel and clutch? Do you know anyone who supplies them? Phill Biggs

Without knowing the year of your Vectra, it is impossible to say if a conversion kit to a solid flywheel is available. You can check on the availability by going to the Valeo site at valeoservice.co.uk/en-uk and choosing the online catalogue option.

There were big discussions about the removal of DMFS a few years back, with many claiming that the crankshaft would be broken if the DMF were removed. However, at the request of a fleet operator, I converted quite a few vehicles using the Valeo kit and can happily say that, over 100,000 miles later, no problems have been encountered. Valeo claims to shatter DMF myths by offering a million-mile guarantee, details of which can be found here: http://bit.ly/2e6ocd4
