Airbag light

There is a fault with the interior boot release in my 2004 Mercedesbenz C180. I pulled out all the fuses out and found nothing amiss, but after putting everything back, the boot lock now works but the airbag light is on. Do I need to reset the fault codes or have I got to go back into the fuses and start again? David Watkins

You have very likely disturbed one of the fuses for the SRS control module. This should be simple enough to reset using a suitable diagnostics scanner. If the light does not reset then you may have to inspect the connections between the fuses and fusebox or the connecting plug. Also check the front crash sensor, as this is prone to problems, being right at the front of the bonnet slam panel.
