Haynes sale won’t affect warranty deal, says Motoreasy
▶ Motoreasy has launched the world’s first parts-only warranty, protecting mechanically-capable motorists against unnecessary repair bills. Joining forces with Haynes, the initiative also includes a free Haynes online manual for the customer’s vehicle, meaning Motoreasy helps replace the parts while Haynes offers the insight in how to fit them.
However, just two days after the UK’S fastest-growing motoring association announced an exciting new partnership with the world’s leading publisher of workshop car manuals, Haynes announced it was embarking on a formal sale process.
“Haynes’ sale won’t affect our delivery of the UK’S first parts only warranty,” Motoreasy’s head of marketing, Rory Buckley, told CM. “We’ll be there to help cover parts costs and deliver access to your own free Haynes manual online.”
In the commencement of formal sale process, Haynes executive chairman Eddie
Bell explained the sombre reason behind the sale. “Our founder, John Haynes, died this year; one year before the company’s 60th anniversary in 2020.
"The board now believes that our future will be best secured by the whole group becoming part of an organisation that has the financial resources to invest for future expansion and take the company through to the next 60 years of success.
“The Company will carry on operating business as usual during the sale process securing a bright, new future for the Group, our management, staff, suppliers and customers worldwide.”
The Motoreasy parts only warranty covers failures caused by overheating; air conditioning problems; failures identified during MOT and servicing; emissions failures; in-car entertainment; recovery; and sat-nav, subject to a free, initial health check prior to warranty commencement.
