Knocking noise

-

u The loud banging heard from the engine bay every time the owner pulled away from a junction was a strong indication that something was wrong. The owner was bracing herself for some bad news. Expecting the worst and hoping for the best is always a decent strategy and in this case the news wasn’t too bad.

The problem was the bone-shaped engine stabiliser bolted to the underside of the engine. Its rubber bush had perished, allowing the engine to swing wildly back and forth as the forces of moving off and slowing down were applied.

With just a couple of bolts to fit the new stabiliser bar into position the little Punto was very quickly back on the road and driving around without the continual banging noises.

?? ?? The centre bush had dropped from the stabiliser allowing it to float around in the fixing.
