The Volvo’s diagnostic socket is located at the base of the facia on the extreme right-hand side. This live data screen on the Launch X431 Euro Tab II is invaluable for assessing what’s actually going on at any moment within the fuel system, in terms of fuel pressure, flow and volume, etc. Live data is useful when interrogating other systems too; you can check a number of faults via live data, to access signals being produced.

This screen shot relates to DPF regeneration; the tool enables the operator to initiate a ‘forced regeneration’ process if the car requires it – often if it has been used frequently for in-town running, where the exhaust seldom reaches the optimum temperature for ‘self regeneration’ to occur.
