MOT advisory

-

Q My 2005 Honda Accord 2.4 petrol got an MOT advisory on a lower control arm rubber bush. I’ve decided to replace both sides. Can you recommend a particular make for this component? I always like to use a reputable name for parts rather than unbranded. I was thinking of going to my local Honda main dealer, but these tend to be very expensive.

A The website www.partsforallcars.com should be able to supply the parts you need and a quick check showed me that they would supply Delphi parts. These are very good and one of the makes that we use regularly. I would also be happy to use Febi-bilstein or Blue Print parts, who are both of the same group. I would be very surprised if genuine Honda parts were comparable in price to aftermarket parts, but it is always worth checking. I have occasionally found that the main dealer parts are occasionally competitively priced.
