8 FILTER HOUSING LID

The paper element air filter is located inside a housing on the top of the engine. Release four spring clips and then pinch two quick-release hose clips underneath (for a breather hose and induction hose to the throttle body) to release the lid. The air filter may be stuck to the underside of the lid.

9 CHECK NEW AIR FILTER

Make sure the replacement air filter is the same size and shape as the old one. The one shown here was supplied by GSF Car Parts. If you intend to replace or even check the spark plugs, don’t refit the air filter housing’s lid (skip to step 14 if you’re not doing anything with the spark plugs).
