UNDERSIDE INSPECTION
25 CHECK ARB DROPLINKS
Use a pry bar to check for play in the droplinks that secure the ends of the front anti-roll bar. Any excessive movement may result in a knocking noise when driving. Visually inspect them as well for signs of perishing. The droplink shown here required replacement, so GSF Car Parts supplied a new pair.
26 CHECK BALLJOINTS
The end of each front lower suspension arm is secured to the hub/upright with a balljoint, so use a pry bar to check it for excessive movement. Test the two mounts on the inside of each arm in a similar manner.
27 PINCH BOOTS
Check the driveshaft boots are securely fitted at each end of each driveshaft. Pinch them to check for cracks in the rubber, which could lead to grease leaking out and dirt getting inside.
