This Duster incorporates these primary components:

Multi-plug ECU
Control unit mounted on rear of engine ABS pump
Digital crankshaft and camshaft sensors
4 x ignition coils
4 x solenoid fuel injectors
Fuel cut-off inertia switch
Fuel pump in tank
Post- and pre-catalyst oxygen sensors
Throttle position sensor mounted on pedal and throttle body
MAF sensor in air filter housing
Engine coolant temperature sensor relaying temperature to ECU
Fuel pump relay, located within underbonnet fuse and relay box
1 The 12V battery is an
1 enhanced flooded battery (EFB); replacements must be of the correct specification. No coding is required. The negative terminal assembly is a complex affair – treat with respect.
3 Strategically located in a protected position inboard of the left-hand front suspension tower is the ECU and its associated wiring. Ensure that the cables and connections are all in good condition.
5 The intake trunking incorporates the air mass sensor, the function of which is to determine the rate (mass) of air passing through the system, signalling this to the ECU – which then determines appropriate fuelling levels.
4 Air filter element condition is crucial to correct fuel system calibration/operation; renew at least as often as specified by Dacia, and ensure that the housing is cleaned out at the same time as renewing the filter element itself.
2 The underbonnet fusebox is located just ahead of the lefthand suspension tower and adjacent to the inner wing. Check at each service that the fusebox lid is fully/snugly seated in order to keep moisture at bay.
6 The ABS system’s control unit/ecu assembly should be inspected for evidence of deterioration and fluid leaks. A diagnostic interrogation of the ABS pump can be carried out via the Launch tool, looking at live data.
