Wrong time
Q My vehicle is a Vauxhall Insignia 2019 (69-plate) Grand Sport Elite Nav Turbo 1.6 petrol. I’ve owned this for a few months and have just recently noticed that the clock is showing an incorrect time. The vehicle is fitted with the Multimedia Navi Pro infotainment system.
Whether I leave the setting on ‘automatic time and date’ or ‘manual’, this appears to make no difference at all, and the actual clock display takes on a stop watch feature starting from each start of the car. The date shows as ‘18/10/2015’ and I have no idea what the relevance of this is. I have recently changed one of the key fob batteries but not sure if this is connected.
I have attached a photo of the ‘settings’ screen showing the auto update selected. The vehicle performs faultlessly in all other aspects, and I am more than happy with it. My three previous vehicles have been Insignias so obviously I am very familiar with them, but this is frustrating me.
Hope that you can assist. Love the magazine.

There was a software error on Honda vehicles that kicked in due to the chip not being able to confirm the date. This was something I have only heard of on Honda vehicles and so I would not expect this to be relevant in your case.
I would, though, say that this is a software issue and there are two things I would try. The first would be to perform a factory reset – this can be done by selecting settings from the home screen, then ‘System’, then select ‘Factory reset’.
This will clear any personal data and saved information, but it may clear the glitch that is causing the issue. If this does not work then I would try to clear the capacitive charge in the unit. This can be done by disconnecting both terminals on the vehicle’s battery and then with the terminals removed touch the positive lead and negative leads together – this should form a circuit without the battery and will drain any capacitive charge in the unit.
The battery can then be reconnected, and the radio will again need to be reset. As the battery has been disconnected, the one-touch operation of the windows will need to be reset by fully opening the window, then operating the switch in the open position for a further five seconds, then fully closing the window and operating the switch for a further five seconds in the close position.
The Stop-start will also not function until the vehicle has been at rest for three hours, but will then operate.
The steering position sensor may also need to be reset and this is done by simply starting the engine and turning the steering fully from lock-to-lock, ending in the forward position.
