Seiko Presage Shippo Enamel Automatic
From £1250
If a Swiss watchmaker told you that its new limited-edition model had a dial that was repeatedly enamelled, ired at 800°C and polished until the single, named master craftsman making them all by hand was satisied that it was perfect, you’d expect a ive-igure bill. Seiko is bit more democratic. It’s making 5000 of its Presage automatics with a shippo dial, a lustrous enamel developed in 17th century Japan and applied to every example by Wataru Totani. The standard Presage range is already well-priced for a proper, high-quality self-winding watch, but from just £1250 these limited editions are great value for a really special watch.
