NEED TO KNOW
> Rust is the big problem:
front wings, rear wings,
door bottoms, rear section
of outer sills, front section
of inner sills, boot loor
and the rear panel where
A-pillars meet scuttle. > 10-valve cars use K Jetronic injection. Tiny bits of dirt can clog the injectors, and they su er from air locks in the fuel system, leading to corrosion. 20-valvers use Motronic injection, which is less vulnerable. > Manifolds can crack on 10-valve models. Aected examples make a ticking noise from cold that disappears when the manifold warms up.
> Gearboxes are strong, but need oil changes at 100k miles.
