WE’VE LONG LIKED German watches for their restrained design, lack of pretension and good value. Trouble is, so does everyone else, and prices have risen of late, though mostly in line with the inflation in Swiss watch prices. The classic German watch is inspired by marine chronomete­rs and has a simple, super-legible dial with a ‘minute track’ around the outside of the dial, and long hands that point straight at them for easier reading. Three new takes on the classic have just been unveiled: here they are.
