BUILD THE PERFECT ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE
Aston design chief Miles Nurnberger oers his insights on the best way to conigure the new sports car
Miles Nurnberger spends much of his working life worrying about compatible combinations
of details, options and colours, so he has a unique perspective on the route to an optimised Vantage. If you visit Aston’s website, the Vantage is shown in a variety of conigurations with names like Lunar Eclipse (dark blue and silver), Tactical (gunmetal grey, black and red accents) and Adrenaline (lime green and black). Nurnberger’s ideal Vantage starts with True Hunter – that’s no-cost China Grey paint with some colourful accents. ‘The grey demonstrates a stealthy, camoulaged appearance,’ he says. Starting price: £95,855
‘Sustaining the dark theme inside, I would choose Titanium Grey Semi-Aniline Leather (£1195) and the California Poppy stitch (£395),’ says Nurnberger. The Dark Chrome Jewellery Pack (£995) trims the air vents, steering wheel accents, door handles and more in soft metal, while the Sports Plus Seats (£1495)
and sports steering wheel (£995) ‘also add to the dynamic feel and ergonomics’ of the car. Total price: £120,900
‘I would add the Cinnabar Orange exterior graphics (£3995), as the subtle hints of orange accentuate the “Hunter” characteristics. The look was inspired by tribal body paint,’ Nurnberger adds. Then he gets busy with the carbonibre: the ‘Bodypack’ (front and rear aero extensions), mirror caps, side vents and roof – totalling £12,480 – ‘for suicient weight reduction’, says Nurnberger, ‘so that it is further ready to pounce on its prey.’ The dark 20-inch forged wheels (£3495) save another 10kg. Running total: £115,825
