Roue is French for ‘wheel’: cars and watches both have them, so it’s a ine name for a new watch brand with an automotive inspiration. There are four models in the range, sharing a single case design to cut prices, which range from £145 to £215. This SSD has an early-’60s drivers’ chronograph feel, with its chequered lag-style minute track on the dial, and its distinctive, retro-look yellow gasket between case and crystal. For just £165 you get a high-quality Seiko quartz movement and two straps, but the thoughtful, knowing design is the real stand-out here.
