o‡-road) Eric’s 1993 200 TDI Range Rover is tatty, cheerful

and modiied with a single purpose: to be able to drive

even the trickiest o‡-road terrain fast.

‘I bought it like this – I didn’t do the work,’ says Eric.

‘The car was built for o‡-road trophy competition, and

it had all the modiications I wanted: uprated long-travel

suspension, competition seats [a pair of crushingly tight

Sparco buckets], the cut-down chassis and winch. It’s

very good!’ smiles Eric, his face ilthy from a happy day’s

o‡-roading. ‘It’s fast here on the tracks, and it’s not too

bad on the road – a bit noisy, but worth it.’
