Peter Schulz’s 2011 TDCi Defender 110
Intrepid crew Peter, his wife Camilla
and their dog Joiz have been living out
of their Defender 110 since 2017 – they
run a media business remotely and no
longer own a home. No strangers to
overland travel, they spent a decade
riding the world’s less travelled areas
on KTM o-road bikes before buying
the Land Rover new, kitting it out and
living the dream.
‘We can be independent for four days solar at panels a time,’ and says lithium-ion Peter. ‘We batteries, have
an uprated clutch and drivetrain,
new bucket seats comfortable for my
height, Koni raid shocks, a kitchen and
a roof tent. We had a couple of Toyota
Land Cruisers before, and they were
great – I loved the six-cylinder engine
– but they used so much gas, and they
were too luxurious! Anyone can ix
Land Rovers; they really are trucks.’
