Four-wheel steer

Optional on lesser 911s, rear-axle steering mimics the eect of shortening and lengthening the wheelbase by turning the rear wheels against the direction of the fronts at lower speeds for extra agility, and in parallel for highspeed stability. Most rear-steer systems need only one actuator; the 911’s drivetrain layout means it needs one on each side.
