Well done for refusing to swallow Audi’s illogical approach in fitting the e-Tron with rear-view cameras rather than mirrors. Based on your description in Does It Work? (February), they simply don’t do anything better than

the traditional solution. And that’s on a good day. I’m sure that many of us have been in cars that have given error messages when sensors and cameras are rendered useless by road dirt and bad weather. Where’s the back-up, the redundancy, in the form of a regular mirror? It’s just not there.
