It’s a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol three-cylinder – the most compact and powerful 1.6 ever, claims Toyota. There are no precise figures yet, but expect just over 260bhp and 260lb ft of torque. The engine is positioned 21mm further back in the engine bay than on other new Yarises, to improve weight distribution.
