Use Cut on Edge dies from Crafter’s Companion to create Carolyne Knott’s elegant Christmas cards
Intricate filigree cards using the new Crafter’s Companion Cut on Edge dies
What better way to showcase the innovative Cut on Edge Christmas dies by Crafter’s Companion, than these ornate filigree cards? Each festive Cut on Edge set includes intricate detail dies and two separate borders, meaning they can be used together or separately to create a wide range of effects.
The Christmas designs include classic festive motifs such as baubles, snowflakes, poinsettias and a tree, which are large enough to provide a main focal point for a square base card (just as Carolyne has done here), and will allow you to craft luxurious cards with ease, not only for your nearest and dearest, but all your friends and family!
And, because the inner details and borders of each design are provided as separate dies it makes them super-versatile. Use them together to create a filigree topper, combine border dies to cut a solid shape to sit behind the filigree design, use the border dies to create a shaped edge or aperture, or try the detail die on its own to cut a filigree design from a card... Gold card at the ready? Then let’s get creating!
1 Die-cut the bauble detail and border from the front of a 140mm square white base card as shown, using low-tack tape to secure the die in the correct position for your machine.
2 Repeat step 1 to die-cut the same design from the right-hand side of a 140mm square of gold mirror card. Attach to the front of the base card as shown.
4 Print a sentiment onto white card, trim into a tag shape, layer onto gold mirror card and attach to base, as shown. Tie a bow with red ribbon and attach to the top left of base.
5 Cover the inside of the base with note paper. Layer a 75mm square of white card and a 135mm square of floral paper onto gold mirror card. Attach to reverse of base.
