Sarah Jackman Read’s table decorations
1 Snowflake decoration
1 Score lines every 20mm down the length of a 160x100mm piece of white card and concertina fold. Transfer the template from p90 onto the top of the concertina strip and cut out the shapes. Repeat with another three pieces of white card. 2 Join the concertina strips together to create a circle. Flatten the concertina circle to make a snowflake shape and attach the folds together in the centre to secure. 3 Die-cut two 55mm circles from pink card and attach to the centre of the snowflake on the front and back. Die-cut snowflakes from turquoise glitter paper and pale pink card, top with pink glitter dome stickers and attach as shown. Add a loop of gold trim to top of snowflake to finish.
2 Candle wreath
1 Die-cut eight 115mm circles from single-sided pale pink paper. Fold one circle into quarters, then unfold and lay flat with the pink side facing up. Fold the two bottom quarters inwards, then turn the circle over and fold both of the folded edges inwards to meet the centre line. Repeat for the other circles. 2 Die-cut a 115mm circle from dark pink card and attach the folded petals around the edge to create a ring. Trim 115mm circles die-cut from dark pink paper to fit inside each petal and attach in place. Die-cut snowflakes from turquoise glitter paper and add to each petal. Top with pink glitter dome stickers. 3 Die-cut four 40mm circles from dark pink card and add pale pink die-cut snowflakes on top. Attach to alternate petals as shown. Add a die-cut circle of card matching the diameter of your LED candle to the centre of the wreath and secure a length of gold trim around the edge. Decorate the base of the candle with washi tape and thin strips of turquoise paper. Position in the centre of the wreath, to finish.
3 Napkin holder
1 Attach a 150x20mm strip of turquoise paper to the centre of a 150x30mm strip of white card. Add washi tape along the edges as shown. Join the ends together to create a ring and place a napkin inside. 2 Die-cut a 40mm circle from pink card and attach to the ring. Die-cut a snowflake from turquoise glitter paper and attach to the circle. Add a pink glitter dome sticker to the centre of the snowflake to finish.
4 Origami Santas
1 Cut two 40mm squares of single-sided pale pink paper. On one square, with the pink side facing up, fold 5mm down on each side to create a white border. Turn the paper over and fold the sides inwards so they meet in the middle. 2 Fold both top corners back out at an angle so they stick out slightly over each side, then fold the top down to create Santa’s body. On the other square, with the pink side facing upwards, fold a 5mm border along the bottom and right-hand side. Fold the opposite corner back to create a small triangle. 3 Turn the paper over and, with the folded corner at the top, fold both sides inwards so they overlap to create a diamond shape. Fold the top over at an angle to create Santa’s hat. Attach the point of Santa’s beard to the top of his body, to finish.
5 Christmas cracker
Die-cut the cracker shape from white card. Attach a 20mm strip of turquoise paper to the centre of the cracker and add washi tape on either side. Attach 5mm strips of turquoise paper and washi tape to each end as shown. 2 Roll the cracker and secure in place. Tie one end with gold trim, fill the cracker with your chosen sweets or gift and then tie the other end with gold trim. 3 Die-cut a 40mm circle from pink card and add a snowflake die-cut from turquoise glitter paper. Top with a pink glitter dome sticker and attach to cracker.
Transfer the hat template from p90 onto gold glitter paper and cut out. Glue the ends together to create the hat. 2 Punch two holes at the bottom of the hat on opposite sides. Thread gold trim through the holes and knot the ends to secure. Add pink and turquoise glitter dome stickers to top of hat as shown, to finish.
7 Place card
Score and fold a 90x140mm piece of white card in half to create a place card. Attach washi tape across the bottom and add 5mm strips of turquoise paper on either side. 2 Die-cut a 60mm circle from pink card and attach to the top of the place card as shown. Die-cut snowflakes from turquoise glitter paper and pale pink paper. Attach the snowflakes to the circle and add a turquoise glitter dome sticker on top. 3 Use a mini alphabet die set to die-cut a name from turquoise glitter paper. Attach the letters onto white card, trim and add to the circle with sticky fixers, to finish.
8 Reindeer piñata
Transfer the reindeer template from p89 twice onto pink card and cut out. Join two 50mm wide pieces of pink card together to create a long strip. Score lines at 10mm and 40mm down each side, fold and attach thin double-sided tape to these tabs. 2 Attach one tab along the edge of one of the reindeers, scoring and trimming the edge of the strip to fit the shape of the body. Attach the other tab to the second reindeer to create a dimensional shape. Transfer the antler template from p89 onto gold mirror card, cut out and attach the antlers to the head. 3 Cut 40mm-wide strips of pink tissue paper and snip slits into it to create fringing. Wrap the fringed strips around the reindeer and attach in place. Continue attaching fringed strips until the reindeer is completely covered, then trim the fringing as necessary. Add a turquoise glitter dome sticker to the reindeer’s nose and attach a length of gold trim for reins, to finish.
9 Elf shoe napkin
Fold a large pink napkin in half lengthwise and then fold it in half lengthwise again. Take each end and angle fold downwards so they meet in the centre like a paper plane. Angle fold each side again, so that the sides meet the centre line. 2 Fold the shape in half lengthwise. Turn the napkin so that the fold is at the top and fold the top layer upwards. Fold the bottom layer down and tuck into the front fold to create the shoe shape. Fold the cuff down and pinch the toe, to finish.
10 Tree box
Transfer the template from p89 onto turquoise card and cut out. Score along the marked lines and fold to create the box. Rub a turquoise ink pad around the edges. Add gold gems to the sides of the box as shown. 2 Punch holes at the top of the triangles on each side of the box. Thread gold trim through the holes and tie in a bow to secure.
