I’m going to be giving homemade wine as Christmas gifts this year, so can you show me how to make a bottle bag?

Cardmaking and Papercraft - - Crafter’s Q&a - James Yates, Stone

Sarah says: This simple bag can be made with 12x12 papers. Take two pieces of matching paper and trim the width down to 235mm. Score down at 15 and 125mm, then join the pieces together in the centre. Trim two 235x60mm pieces of contrasting paper, fold in half, then sandwich the large piece inside across the top. Trim four flaps into a 110x90mm piece of the same paper for the bottom of the bag, score a 15mm flap on each piece and attach along the bottom of the panels. Score down the centre of two alternate panels to 55mm up from the bottom, then score a triangle. Fold along the score lines to allow the bag to be folded flat. Finally, attach the sides together to create the bag shape, punch holes in the top 80mm apart and thread ribbon through the holes to create handles. To finish, you could also add a gift tag to the handle with a hand-written message.

Wrap up your bottled gifts in style this year!
