Cover the outer panels of the box with patterned papers before folding, as this will make it easier to attach the pieces. Layering your patterned papers onto coloured card gives a more professional finish and enhances the colours.

Carefully plan the toppers and embellishments for your pop-up box before attaching them. Avoid adding too many elements as the card will look overcrowded.

If you are using acetate, ensure that it is thick and sturdy so that your embellishments will stand upright. You can also keep the strips fairly short to avoid bending.

Using a wet glue to attach the internal panels will give you a little more time to ensure that they are correctly positioned before securing in place.
