To make sure that you don’t ac­ci­den­tally stick your con­certina sec­tions to­gether, ap­ply glue to the back of each layer rather than the folded pan­els on ei­ther side of the frame.

If you pre­fer to use dou­ble-sided tape to add the lay­ers, run a glue stick along the tape be­fore at­tach­ing. This will give you more time to get the place­ment of the layer cor­rect be­fore the ad­he­sive is per­ma­nent.

Use a heavy­weight card (I used 300gsm) to en­sure that the del­i­cate die-cut pieces are strong enough to re­main straight and sturdy when sus­pended in the frame.

When cre­at­ing your lay­ers from the same colour of card, dab on some touches of glit­ter or ink to de­fine the edges and add a bit of sparkle.

Use a dark coloured card for the back­ground to cre­ate a more dra­matic ef­fect and en­sure that the die-cut lay­ers re­ally stand out.
