Make homespun sewing-themed gifts
1 Home picture
1 Remove the glass and backing board from a photo frame. Cut a piece of white patterned paper to match the size of the backing board and insert into the frame. Replace the backing board. 2 Die-cut the square cross stitch hoop from white card and woodgrain card. Use pink, blue and green stranded cotton to stitch the house design onto the white die-cut piece, as shown. Attach the die-cuts together and add to the frame. 3 Stamp a sentiment onto white card using brown ink. Trim, then layer onto woodgrain card and attach to the frame. Add paper flowers around the sentiment.
2 Heart gift tag
1 Die-cut the circle cross stitch hoop from white card and woodgrain card. Use pink embroidery thread to stitch the heart design onto the white die-cut piece, as shown. Attach the die-cuts together. 2 Colour the top of the hoop with a gold marker, as shown. Attach the layered hoop onto a die-cut circle of patterned paper with sticky fixers. 3 Attach a loop of pink embroidery thread to the top of the tag. Add paper flowers to the bottom of the tag.
3 Trinket box
1 Die-cut a circle from blue patterned paper, ink the edges in brown and attach to the top of a circular gift box. Add a strip of lace across the centre. 2 Die-cut a heart from cream card and ink the edges in brown. Attach to the top of the box with sticky fixers. Die-cut the mannequin and scissors from kraft card. Ink the edges in brown and run a gold marker around the outside edges. Add to the box with sticky fixers. 3 Wrap lace around the box and secure in place. Attach three pearls to the top of the box, to finish.
4 Pen holder
1 Cover a cardboard tube with pink patterned paper. Wrap lace around the top and secure in place. Die-cut buttons from patterned papers and attach around the bottom of the tube. 2 Die-cut the mannequin, scissors, thimble and cotton reel from kraft card. Ink the edges in brown and run a gold marker around the outside edges. Wrap pink embroidery thread around the cotton reel and secure on the reverse. Attach the die-cut pieces to the tube as shown. 3 Attach a length of pink embroidery thread to the bottom of the tube, securing one end behind the cotton reel. Stamp a sentiment onto white patterned paper and trim. Ink the edges in brown and attach using sticky fixers.
5 Shaker card
1 Attach a 130x175mm piece of blue patterned paper to a 135x180mm white base. Place a piece of cream card into the Needlecraft Cut and Emboss folder and run through your die-cutting machine. Trim and ink the edges in brown. 2 Attach acetate behind the oval aperture and position sticky fixers around the edge of the oval aperture on top of the acetate. Fill the centre of the oval with buttons and attach a 110x155mm piece of floral paper on top. Add to the base. 3 Stamp a sentiment onto cream card with red ink, trim and ink the edges in brown. Layer onto blue patterned paper and attach to the base.
6 Découpage letters
1 Tear découpage papers into small squares. Apply a layer of découpage glue onto a large 3D letter, attach a square and paint over the paper with another layer of glue. Continue until each letter is covered and leave to dry. 2 Draw around each letter onto patterned paper. Carefully cut around the shapes and attach to the front of the corresponding letters using découpage glue. Allow to dry. 3 Trim the paper around the letters, if required, using scissors or a craft knife. Ink the edges of each letter with brown ink, to finish.
7 Vintage card
1 Stamp images to cover a 140mm square kraft base using brown ink. Ink the edges in brown. Attach washi tape and lace to the centre of the base, as shown. 2 Die-cut the sewing machine and two cotton reels from woodgrain card. Ink the edges in brown and run a gold marker around the outside edges. Stamp a sentiment onto cream card in black, trim and ink the edges in brown. 3 Attach the sewing machine to the base using sticky fixers and add the sentiment on top. Wrap pink and green embroidery thread around the cotton reels and add to the base, securing the loose ends on the base. Add decorative pins to one of the cotton reels.
8 Flower brooch
1 Use the Pretty Petals Multi Media die to die-cut a flower shape from a piece of pink patterned paper and two leaves from blue patterned paper. Starting from the outer petals, roll the strip into a coil to create a flower shape and secure in place. 2 Die-cut a circle from a piece of kraft card and ink the edges in brown. Use a narrow strip of kraft card to attach a safety pin to the back of the circle. 3 Attach the two leaves and rolled flower to the kraft circle as shown, to finish.
9 Notebook cover
1 Cover a notebook with a piece of white floral paper. Die-cut the sewing machine from kraft card, ink the edges in brown and add to the notebook. Attach a strip of lace to the bottom. 2 Die-cut two cotton reels from woodgrain card, one cotton reel from red card and one cotton reel from teal card. Trim the central section from the red and teal die-cuts and attach to the woodgrain cotton reels. Ink the edges in brown and add to the notebook with sticky fixers. 3 Stamp a sentiment onto white patterned paper in brown ink, trim and ink the edges in brown ink. Attach to the bottom right corner of the notebook. Add buttons as shown, to finish.
10 Cross stitch card
1 Attach a 135mm square of grey patterned paper to a 140mm square white base. Wrap pink embroidery thread around the top of the base and tie in a bow. 2 Stamp the cross stitch heart onto the centre of a 102mm square of white card using grey ink. Stamp a sentiment and four decorative corners, as shown, in blue. 3 Layer the panel onto a piece of pink patterned paper and attach to the centre of the base with sticky fixers. Add pearls to each corner of the panel, to finish.
