New CCTV image of wanted man

-

A NEW CCTV image of a man wanted on suspicion of murder has been released by police.

The image was captured in the Glynneath area in Neath Port Talbot on Saturday, September 29, a day after the body of 54-year-old Simon Clark was discovered at Grove Caravan Park in Pendine, Carmarthenshire.

Steve Baxter, 52, is believed to have travelled to West Wales shortly after this image was captured and police believe he is in the Haverfordwest area.

Four people have been charged in connection with the incident, but police officers are continuing to hunt for Baxter, who is wanted on suspicion of murder.

The new CCTV image of the suspect is an attempt to give the public an idea of what he might look like now.

In the latest image, Baxter can clearly be seen wearing a wig underneath a hat, which distinguishes him from the other images released.

He is described as 5ft 5ins tall and bald. He has tattoos on his forearms - the name Chez and entwined circles on his left arm and a serpent on his right arm. Police said he might since have made other attempts to alter his appearance, such as by growing facial hair or wearing glasses.

A spokesman for the force said: “Police located the man who was the subject of the possible sighting [in Haverfordwest] and after speaking to him, were satisfied that this was not Steve Baxter.

“At a similar time, but not in connection with this sighting, a search of a derelict building was carried out in Uzmaston. Steve Baxter was not located.”

A reward of up to £5,000 has been offered to anyone with information that leads to Baxter’s capture.

Police have warned the public not to approach the “dangerous individual”, and stressed that if anyone sees him, they should contact 999.
