Penclawdd suffer first loss

IT’S tight at the top of Two West after leaders Penclawdd lost their unbeaten record.

Mike Sauro claimed all the points via six penalties as Pontyberem claimed an 18-17 victory.

A hat-trick of tries from Kristian Corbisiero gave Penclawdd a losing bonus point, with Dan Guarneri adding a conversion.

Loughor moved within points of top spot as they Carmarthen Athletic 26-23.

Elliott Griffiths and Tom Davies touched down for Loughor.

Davies kicked 10 points, Gear added a penalty and Davies another.

Lee Bradley, James Newnian and Robbie Thomas went over for Athletic, with Karl Williams kicking the rest of the points.

Mumbles sealed back-to-back wins after seeing off Burry Port 2417. Ewan Gully took the spotlight with 19 points via two tries, three conversion­s and a penalty.

Sam Cook added the other try. two beat Rhys Rhys

Richard Parker and Tom Bowen replied for Burry Port and Ben Williams kicked the remaining points.

Pontarddul­ais took maximum points from their 31-8 win at bottom club Tumble. Jacob Miles went over twice with Josh Goss, Aled Stone and a penalty try also on the scoresheet.

Stone wrapped up with two conversion­s.

Iwan Morgan ensured Tumble got points on the board, with Mitchell Jones adding a penalty.

Tycroes were thrashed 44-28 by Pembroke. Elgan Griffiths, John James, Dean Bromham and Dan Conibeer handed Tycroes a bonus point, with Lee Evans kicking all four conversion­s.

Toby Colley, James Davies, James Kaijaks, Dan Colley, Scott Powell and Fraser James ensured Pembroke took the win.

Toby Colley fired over four conversion­s and two penalties.
