A NEW series of S4C’s hit rugby-themed chat show Jonathan is kicking off and the first episode will see presenters scrummaging down at the channel’s new headquarters in Carmarthen.

Rugby legend Jonathan Davies, sports presenter Sarra Elgan Easterby and renowned referee Nigel Owens will be at Canolfan S4C Yr Egin to give their own oval-shaped view of the world in a series that coincides with the autumn international season.

The series begins on Friday at its usual 9.30pm slot and will offer the perfect taster for the clash between Wales and Scotland which will be live the next day on S4C.

It is the first time that the show Jonathan will be broadcast from Carmarthenshire.

The team are looking forward to being at the new media hub.

Jonathan said: “After spending 14 years in Cardiff, it’s an extremely exciting period for us moving to S4C’s new headquarters in Carmarthen.

“You can expect some of the same old items, as well as new ones too, but one thing is for sure, rugby is still at the core of the programme.

“The three of us are very much looking forward to being the first television series to be filmed at the state-of-the-art media centre, and welcoming audiences that have quite possibly never been before.”

This series line-up is full of guests from the celebrity and sporting world of Wales who will be ready for a fair bit of leg-pulling, astute questioning and of course the traditional ‘Kicking between Posts’ challenge.

The presenters also face their share of challenges during the series, including having a go at sausage making with Dewi Roberts the butchers, playing a game of Jonathan’s second favourite sport, golf, and working up a sweat.

All will be revealed when the series kicks off and if you want to be in the thick of the action, you can join the audience by ordering your free tickets through rhaglenjonathan@avantimedia.tv.

Jonathan is on S4C on Friday at 9.30pm. the
