Busy care home raises funds for can­cer char­ity

A CAR­MARTHEN care home has been busy rais­ing funds for char­ity dur­ing 2018 which has been its busiest year so far.

The most re­cent fundrais­ers at Towy Cas­tle care home based in Up­land Arms have been for Go­lau, Can­cer foun­da­tion.

Staff took part in two sep­a­rate climbs up Pen y Fan dur­ing May and Septem­ber rais­ing a to­tal of £3,302 and dur­ing July they raised £1,091 for the Welsh Air Am­bu­lance through hold­ing a gar­den party at the home.

Sadie France, the train­ing man­ager said: “It has been a fan­tas­tic fundrais­ing year for the home with us rais­ing the most we ever have. So far this year our fundrais­ing ef­forts have raised more than £5,000 for lo­cal causes.

“We would like to thank ev­ery­one for their sup­port and we look for­ward to rais­ing funds in 2019 for more wor­thy causes.”
