Man charged over business leader’s death
THE husband of Mavis Bran, who died after suffering serious burns following an incident at a Carmarthenshire chip shop, has been charged with her murder.
Geoffrey Bran, aged 70, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday, and has now been charged with the murder of his 69-year-old wife.
Mrs Bran suffered serious burns following an incident at the Chipoteria cafe and takeaway in Hermon, which she ran with her husband, on Tuesday, October 23. She was later taken to Morriston Hospital in Swansea where she died from her injuries six days later.
Mr Bran, of Bryn Tawel in Hermon, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court yesterday and will appear at Swansea Crown Court on Monday.
