Woman in over­turned car hos­pi­talised

A WOMAN has been taken to hos­pi­tal af­ter her car ended up up­side down on a ru­ral Car­marthen­shire road.

The one-car in­ci­dent hap­pened shortly be­fore 6.30pm on Thurs­day night in Port Way in Fer­ry­side, be­tween Car­marthen and Llanelli.

The car had over­turned in the road and the driver was the ve­hi­cle’s sole oc­cu­pier.

Po­lice of­fi­cers and fire ser­vice per­son­nel ar­rived at the scene and the road was closed while the area was made safe.

A spokesman for the Mid and West Wales Fire and Res­cue Ser­vice said: “We re­ceived a call at 6.29pm on Thurs­day night. A car had over­turned in the road­way. A fire crew from Kid­welly at­tended the scene and made the area safe. The crew left the scene shortly af­ter 7.30pm.”

First aid was given to the driver at the scene and she was later taken to hos­pi­tal, but her in­juries are not thought to be se­ri­ous.
