Students perform at Christmas concert
THE annual Vice Chancellor’s Christmas Concert will be held at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s Carmarthen campus on Sunday, December 9.
Featuring performances by students from the university’s Wales International Academy of Voice (WIAV); students from UWTSD’s Cardiff-based Welsh-medium BA Perfformio (Performance) course along with the British Sinfonietta, the concert will include a range of Christmas classics that are sure to delight audiences.
Conducted by UWTSD lecturer and leading choral director and composer, Eilir Owen Griffiths, the concert provides the university’s talented students the opportunity to showcase their musical abilities in the charming surroundings of the chapel.
“The annual Vice-Chancellor’s Christmas concert is a great opportunity for the students to perform with one of the UK’s leading professional orchestras and to highlight the wealth of talent we have within the university,” says Eilir, BA Perfformio course director.
“I always look forward to this occasion and I’m sure the audience will be delighted with the programme we’ve prepared.”
The Christmas Concert will take place at 7.30pm on Sunday, December 9, at the chapel on the Carmarthen campus.
