St Clears
ST Clears is the latest community to receive lifesaving defibrillators with thanks to matchfunding raised by St Clears Town Council and the British Heart Foundation (BHF)’s Nation of Lifesaver package.
Dr Edmund Davies, mayor of St Clears said: “We are delighted that a defibrillator will be located outside the leisure centre so that it is accessible at all times in the event of an emergency.
“I would like to thank the previous mayor of St Clears, Councillor Lyn Davies, for providing the vital funds for these pieces of life-saving equipment.
“The local community were trained on emergency life skills, which involves CPR and defibrillator training kindly provided by Carmarthenshire Council.”
Jayne Lewis, BHF Cymru’s local fundraising manager, added: “I would like to thank St Clears Town Council for all their help and support in raising the match funding for the defibrillator.
“With more people in Wales trained in emergency life-support skills and more defibrillators available locally, the chances of resuscitating someone from a cardiac arrest should be greatly improved.”
