Jamie ready for return to scene of memorable march to semis
JAMIE Lewis is preparing for another assault on the William Hill World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace in London this month.
The 27-year-old, formerly of Cardigan but now based in Carmarthen, is ranked 29 in the Professional Darts Corporation world order of merit. He caused a sensation in last year’s championships when becoming the first player to reach the semi-finals after entering the competition through a preliminary-round event.
Lewis has been drawn against the winner of the first-round clash between qualifiers Martin Schindler and Cody Harris.
Schindler, aged berg in Germany, is ranked 48th in the world, while 33-year-old Harris from New Zealand is number 154.
The championship offers a prize fund of £2,500,000 and starts on Thursday, December 13.
