Medals galore as Sauterelle hits heights in top event

THERE was success for Usk ValleySaut­erelle Trampoline Club at the Welsh Schools Championsh­ips.

Cody Davies, a member of the Carmarthen-based Sauterelle club, became Welsh Schools Novice champion in Years 9 and 10. In this group of 15, only the top three in each section go through to represent their schools at the British semi-finals in the zonal round to take place in Hatfield in January.

Seren Cheriton Mason is also through to the semis after finishing third in a large group of 41 children in Years 1-6

Janelle Lawrence also goes to Hatfield after she finished third in the Year 11-14 age group representi­ng Queen Elizabeth.

In Years 7-8, the club gained the top three places with Evie McLoughlin crowned Welsh champion. Millie Forrest took second and Eleri Davies third.

Together with Esme Jaros Reynolds, Olivia Holloway and Evie Forrest, they also won the team event so all go through as a team and the top three as individual­s.

In years 9-10, the club had the Welsh champion in Megan Burke, with Millie Denton in second place. Sauterelle also have the reserve in Eleri Thomas. All other members made the top 10.

In the beginners’ section (Years 1-6), the club again had the Welsh champion with Amelia Evans coming out on top in a large group of 31.

And in Years 7-9 the club had more success with Welsh champion Caitlin Murray.

They also took third with Caitlin Joyce. Rowan Peres Da Costa was fourth in this group, while Rebecca Skinner filled the same spot in the Intermedia­te section.
