Medals ga­lore as Sauterelle hits heights in top event

THERE was suc­cess for Usk Val­leySauterelle Tram­po­line Club at the Welsh Schools Cham­pi­onships.

Cody Davies, a mem­ber of the Car­marthen-based Sauterelle club, be­came Welsh Schools Novice cham­pion in Years 9 and 10. In this group of 15, only the top three in each sec­tion go through to rep­re­sent their schools at the British semi-fi­nals in the zonal round to take place in Hat­field in Jan­uary.

Seren Cheri­ton Ma­son is also through to the semis af­ter fin­ish­ing third in a large group of 41 chil­dren in Years 1-6

Janelle Lawrence also goes to Hat­field af­ter she fin­ished third in the Year 11-14 age group rep­re­sent­ing Queen Eliz­a­beth.

In Years 7-8, the club gained the top three places with Evie McLough­lin crowned Welsh cham­pion. Mil­lie For­rest took sec­ond and Eleri Davies third.

To­gether with Esme Jaros Reynolds, Olivia Hol­loway and Evie For­rest, they also won the team event so all go through as a team and the top three as in­di­vid­u­als.

In years 9-10, the club had the Welsh cham­pion in Me­gan Burke, with Mil­lie Denton in sec­ond place. Sauterelle also have the re­serve in Eleri Thomas. All other mem­bers made the top 10.

In the be­gin­ners’ sec­tion (Years 1-6), the club again had the Welsh cham­pion with Amelia Evans com­ing out on top in a large group of 31.

And in Years 7-9 the club had more suc­cess with Welsh cham­pion Caitlin Mur­ray.

They also took third with Caitlin Joyce. Rowan Peres Da Costa was fourth in this group, while Re­becca Skin­ner filled the same spot in the In­ter­me­di­ate sec­tion.
